Admission Requirement

Applicants who wish to study at Hainan University should be healthy, well-behaved and capable of living independently. They should observe Chinese laws and the university regulations and respect Chinese culture and custom.
Applicants for undergraduate programs should graduate from a high school or obtain a high school diploma or equivalent;
Applicants for postgraduate programs should complete their undergraduate studies and obtain a bachelors degree or equivalent;
Ph.D.applicants should complete their graduate studies and obtain a Masters degree or equivalent.

Language Requirements for Degree programs:
 (1) Applicants for Chinese taught programs should be capable of studying courses in Chinese and obtained HSK Band 4(or above) certificate (Chinese Proficiency Test) prior to application. 
 (2) Applicants from non-English speaking countries for English taught programs should be capable of studying courses in English and obtained the certificate of IELTS 6.0, or TOEFL 560, TOEFL iBT 75.

Those who are doing degree-granting Chinese taught programs must pass HSK Band 5 before graduation
